Sell Cancelled Order Stock for Cash

The order was confirmed, the stock was made, and then the customer pulled out. Now it's sitting in your warehouse with nowhere to go. We buy cancelled order stock from UK suppliers, so you can recover your cash and get your space back without chasing new buyers line by line.

  • One offer for the whole order
  • Customer-branded and own-label stock considered
  • Discreet resale away from your customers

What can you do with stock from a cancelled order?

You have four main options: try to resell it to other customers, negotiate with the original buyer to take some of it, hold it and hope, or sell it in bulk to a stock buyer. If you need the cash and space back quickly, selling the whole order to a buyer is usually the fastest and most certain route, especially when the stock was made to a specific customer's spec.

Why cancelled orders hit suppliers so hard

A cancelled order doesn't just mean lost revenue. You've already paid for materials, production, freight and duty. Now you also have to store the goods, insure them and find someone else who wants them. And the longer it takes, the more it costs.

It's even harder when the stock was made specifically for one customer:

Cartons of finished stock stacked high in a warehouse
  • Customer branding or packaging means you can't easily sell it to their competitors.
  • Specific specs or sizes may not suit your other buyers.
  • Large single-line volumes are hard to place without heavy discounting.
  • Seasonal timing means the stock loses value every week it waits.

That's where a buyer who takes the whole order in one go can save you months of work.

What cancelled order stock do we buy?

  • Orders cancelled by retailers or wholesale customers
  • Lines delisted by a supermarket or high street chain
  • Reduced orders, where a customer took less than agreed
  • Cancelled export orders that are already made or shipped
  • Stock that arrived after a customer's deadline
  • Customer-branded and own-label goods subject to the brand owner's permission
  • Promotional or one-off production runs that won't be repeated

How to sell your cancelled order stock

1. Send us the order details

A packing list, purchase order or stock sheet is perfect. Tell us the products, quantities, how they're packed and where the stock is.

2. Tell us about any restrictions

If the stock carries a customer's branding, or there are markets it mustn't be sold in, let us know now. We'll build that into our offer.

3. Get a firm offer

We make you one offer for the whole order, usually within 24 hours.

4. We collect and pay

Accept the offer and we collect from your site, warehouse or port, and pay you before the stock leaves.

Your options for cancelled order stock

Often only a partial result; can take months

No immediate loss on paper

Storage costs; value falls; cash stays tied up

Many suppliers try the first two for a few weeks, then sell what's left. If you go that route, talk to us early. Stock is worth more the sooner it's sold.

How much will I get for a cancelled order?

Our offer depends on the product, brand, packaging, quantity and any resale restrictions. Generic or unbranded goods in standard packaging are easiest to resell. Customer-branded stock or goods with strict restrictions can still be bought, but usually at a lower price because the resale options are narrower.

Before you decide, check your contract with the original customer. Depending on the terms, you may be able to claim some of your costs back from them. Speak to a legal adviser if you're unsure.

Cancelled order stock FAQs

Can I sell stock a customer cancelled?

Usually yes, if you own the stock and there are no restrictions in your contract. If it carries the customer's branding or trademarks, you may need their permission before it's resold. Check your terms first.

Do you buy stock with another company's branding on it?

We can consider customer-branded stock where the brand owner agrees, or where it can be debranded or sold into agreed export markets. Tell us about the branding when you get in touch.

How quickly can you take a cancelled order?

Once you accept an offer, we can usually arrange collection within a few days, depending on volume and location.

Do you buy cancelled export orders?

Yes. If the stock is already made, in transit or back in the UK, we can make an offer. Tell us where it is and what paperwork is in place.

Will the stock compete with my other customers?

It doesn't have to. We'll agree resale channels with you before you accept, such as export-only or away from named retailers.

Is it worth chasing the original customer for costs?

It can be, depending on your contract. Many suppliers do both: they pursue a claim for costs while selling the stock to stop storage costs building up.
